{"id":195,"date":"2026-01-16T12:48:35","date_gmt":"2026-01-16T12:48:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/padfield.derbyshire.sch.uk\/?page_id=195"},"modified":"2026-01-16T12:49:01","modified_gmt":"2026-01-16T12:49:01","slug":"fops-pta","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/padfield.derbyshire.sch.uk\/index.php\/fops-pta\/","title":{"rendered":"FOPS \/ PTA"},"content":{"rendered":"\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Welcome to Padfield School FOPS!<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>We hope your experience here will be a happy and exciting one for both you and your child.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here at Padfield School the Parent Teacher Association is known as Friends of Padfield School (FOPS).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What does FOPS do?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The main role of FOPS is to organize school fundraising events and activities for the children and their families.&nbsp; For example, Summer &amp; Christmas Fairs, Mother\u2019s Day &amp; Father\u2019s Day secrets rooms, Easter Tombola, Discos &amp; Sponsored Walks to name but a few.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How can you get involved?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>FOPS is a voluntary charitable organization run by parents and teachers. If you can spare an hour or two and are interested in supporting the school then please feel free to come and join in, whether its mums, dads, grandparents or families of former pupils.&nbsp; You can attend any of the meetings. There are around four a year and they last roughly an hour. You can get involved as much or as little as you like, helping with events, baking, or by providing new ideas for fundraising.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What does FOPS spend the money we raise on?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>FOPS use the money raised to buy things that are additional to the school budget. For example:<br>\u00b7School leaver\u2019s books\u200b<br>\u00b7Mathletics<br>\u00b7Laptops<br>\u00b7Development of the infants outdoor play area<br>\u00b7Leavers trip<br>\u00b7Ipads<br>\u00b7New playground equipment<br>\u00b7Theatre Trips<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u200bWe also raise money for charities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What are FOPS saving for?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>FOPS are currently raising money to go towards various projects, which are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Whole school enrichment trips<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The FOPS Committee 2024-25<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The fundraising activities FOPS organizes are coordinated by a committee. There are currently 5 named posts on the committee.&nbsp;&nbsp; In addition to that there are a number of other committee members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The committee is appointed each autumn term at the AGM.&nbsp; The current post holders are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Chair&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; Lewis Colau &#8211; Dad of Fox (Y1)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Secretary&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; Helen Dunk &#8211; Mum of Poppy in (Y2) and Isla (R)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Treasurer&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; Lisa Calvert &#8211; Mum of Vincent (Y5) and Marianne (Y2)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Communications&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; Anne-Marie Peterkamp &#8211; Mum of Alexis (Y2) and Jessica (R)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u200b<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How does FOPS keep in touch with you?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>There are a number of ways we keep in touch.&nbsp; The main way is through letters which are emailed home with the school Weekly Newsletter. Use the search to compare items with all of the retailers to help find the best price. You pay exactly the same as on the shop&#8217;s main site, often less than on the high street. The commission we earn comes out of the marketing spend &#8211; the retailer&#8217;s profit margin &#8211; so it doesn&#8217;t cost you anything.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"250\" height=\"200\" src=\"https:\/\/padfield.derbyshire.sch.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/image-1.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-199\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Lots of larger sized companies have schemes which support charities called Match Funding. This involves matching the funding FOPS raises with the company&#8217;s own money. Please ask your company if they have such a scheme.
